ERICA FOWLER
Hello and welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio.
ABOUT
I am a detail-orientated communications and social media professional with six years of experience, including nearly four years managing social efforts for a prominent brand. Combining my hands-on experience with a degree in public relations, I bring a strong understanding of how audiences consume and engage with social content, along with insight into how brands cultivate and sustain meaningful, lasting connections with tailored communities. My strengths and interests lie in crafting compelling stories and content, executing dynamic digital campaigns and building collaborative relationships with diverse partners.
VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY
Currently, as a Senior Social Media Specialist in Vanderbilt University’s central communications and marketing unit, I develop and implement organic and paid social media campaigns across all of the university's flagship (@VanderbiltU), alumni (@VanderbiltAlumni) and chancellor (@VU_Chancellor) accounts. In this position, I contribute to the full spectrum of social media operations—from strategy development and content creation to content calendar management, copywriting, publishing, paid boosting, performance/analytics reporting and social monitoring. Additionally, I collaborate on content for Vanderbilt Athletics social accounts, execute influencer campaigns and manage fast-paced live coverage for events like Commencement, Move-In Day, Homecoming/Reunion, Game Days, etc.
AKRON-CANTON REGIONAL FOODBANK
Previously, as a Social Media & Communications Coordinator at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, a Feeding America affiliate, I strategically conveyed the organization's mission through social media, newsletters and direct collaboration with the news media, maintaining a consistent voice across all channels.
KENT STATE UNIVERSITY
Prior to Vanderbilt University and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, I gained valuable experience working in the central communications and marketing unit at my alma mater, Kent State University, where I contributed to both social media and public relations efforts for the university.
